Vintage 1942 Roseville Pottery Foxglove Blue Wall Pocket Vase, 1292-8
Some flowers deserve their own flowers.
Made by Roseville Pottery in 1942, this sculptural wall pocket is part of the iconic Foxglove pattern and features Roseville’s unmistakable mix of botanical detail and wonderfully dramatic form. The deep blue satin-matte ground is decorated with a raised cream foxglove stalk and hand-painted green leaves, while curved open handles give the piece an almost architectural silhouette.
Marked 1292-8, this is the larger eight-inch Foxglove wall pocket form. It’s beautiful empty, but give it a handful of unruly stems and it really starts showing off.
A particularly good piece for collectors of Roseville, American art pottery, or anyone who believes walls should be doing more than holding up the ceiling.
