A turtle with nowhere urgent to be—an energy we fully support. Hand-carved in Mexico from warm golden-yellow stone, this charming little creature features a softly polished finish, an etched geometric shell and tiny black inset eyes.
The natural veining and tonal variations run throughout the stone, making him one of one by default. Substantial enough to work as a paperweight, but perfectly content simply holding court on a shelf, coffee table or stack of books.
Original “Hecho en México” label remains on the underside. Vintage condition with natural variations and minor surface wear consistent with age. Felt pads have been added underneath to protect surfaces.
Often called Mexican onyx, this decorative stone is a banded calcite rather than true onyx.
