Vintage Art Deco Czechoslovakian Purple Ceramic Chamber Candlesticks, Set of Two
A matched pair of vintage ceramic chamber candlesticks in a deep violet-blue glaze, finished with hand-painted geometric floral bands in yellow, black, blue, and coral. The exaggerated loop handles and wide, flared bases give them a sculptural Art Deco silhouette that looks just as good unlit.
Designed for standard taper candles, with broad drip-catching tops and handles made for carrying candlelight from room to room, back when that was a perfectly normal evening activity.
Impressed Czechoslovakia marks on the underside. Likely dating to the early to mid-20th century.
