This vintage toleware candle holder is made from sculpted metal branches covered in hand-painted green leaves, tiny blue and yellow flowers, and one very charming red bird perched among the vines. A single floral-shaped candle cup at the end holds a standard taper, turning the whole thing into equal parts candle holder and tabletop sculpture.
The faded paint, exposed metal and age-earned patina are exactly what make it good. Delicate without being precious, whimsical without wandering into cute.
